Tomorrow is Begum Rokeya Day, a celebration honouring the contributions of Begum Rokeya, a social reformer who ensured equal rights for men and women and a pioneer in Bengali women’s education.
As part of the celebrations, the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs has given out ‘Begum Rokeya Padak’ to women who have made exceptional contributions to the nation’s female empowerment.
In separate statements today, President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus honoured Begum Rokeya’s memory for her role in promoting women’s education.
The women receiving ‘Begum Rokeya Padak 2024’ were congratulated by the President and the Chief Adviser.
