According to the Associated Press, former US President Donald Trump commended the New York Police Department (NYPD) for removing pro-Palestinian demonstrators from Columbia University.
Trump stated that the NYPD intervention ought to have happened sooner during a live phone conversation to a Fox News program. Trump remarked, “But it should never have gotten to this,” in reference to the students’ success in taking over the Hamilton Hall structure.
“They should have done it a lot sooner than before they took over the building because it would have been a lot easier if they were in tents rather than a building. And tremendous damage done, too,” he said.
