On Sunday, Japan’s weather agency warned residents in western and eastern Japan to be on the lookout for landslides in areas impacted by heavy rain, adding that temperatures are forecast to rise due to warm air moving in from the south.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the temperature in western and eastern Japan is forecast to rise beyond 30 degrees Celsius on Sunday, with interior areas reaching approximately 35 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the seasonal rain front has been dropping record rainfall since Thursday, producing a series of landslides and flooding in Yamaguchi and the northern part of the Kyushu area, according to the JMA.
The front is predicted to stay in western Japan and cause heavier rainfall in the region beginning Monday, according to the forecast.
High temperatures, according to weather forecasters, might also generate unstable atmospheric conditions, encouraging people to be on the lookout for downpours, lightning strikes, and strong winds.
