The Textile Olympiad will help build the capacity of students from climate-vulnerable areas.

Barisal is one of the most climate-vulnerable regions, and competition like the Textile Olympiad would certainly contribute towards building the capacity of local graduates, discussants shared during a discussion held on May 24 after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Jobletic and the BTEC Career Club. This partnership aims to expand opportunities for BTEC students by providing job placements, internships, and practical skill development programmes tailored to the textile industry and beyond.

The MoU was signed by Zakia Haque, Founder of Jobletic, and Sadia Afrin Mou, President of BTEC Career Club. ”We are very happy to support a career club from the climate-vulnerable region. We have supported a number of youth organisations from textile and other technical universities, said Zakia. She added that such collaborations equip students with practical skills and broader networks, paving the way for success in a competitive job market.

Sadia Afrin Mou shared some details about the upcoming mega event, the Textile Olympiad 2.0, which is scheduled to be held on July 26. “We are very excited to launch this partnership with Jobletic and look forward to working together for the successful roll-out of the Olympiad, she added.

Obaidur Rahman, Business Development Advisor at Jobletic, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We have a dream to see a big campaign on sustainability leadership.” Oli Chowdhury, Communication & Outreach Advisor at Jobletic; Jamila Akter Lima, Communication and Business Development Associate at Jobletic; and Md. Tanvir Hasan from the BTEC Career Club’s Administration Wing also attended the signing ceremony.

The agreement marks the beginning of Jobletic’s role as a technical partner for the Textile Olympiad 2.0 and beyond. As part of this partnership, the BTEC Career Club plans to conduct training sessions in collaboration with Jobletic, aiming to boost students’ employability and innovation skills.
