Timeframe for sending workers to Malaysia’s plantation sector extended

Selected workers will now have until March 31 to be sent to Malaysia’s plantation industry.

Gazi Md Shahed Anowar, Deputy Secretary of the Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry, signed a notification today revealing the information.

Selected plantation workers were advised by the notification to finish all processes, including acquiring visas, by February 15.

The maximum cost of migration for a worker has been determined by the government at Tk 78,740.

Additionally, chosen employees have been instructed to only pay authorized recruiting agents.
