There was a reasonable demand for Chattogram’s weekly tea sale end-of-season quality. Once more, blenders provided strong support, especially for the limited number of high-quality liquoring types available. Buyers of loose tea were almost nonexistent. Withdrawals increased this week as a result.
Despite a further decline in quality, market witnessed a little more demand particularly for the cleaner varieties.
BROKENS: Good liquoring Brokens met with a fairly good demand and were generally firm to slightly easier in line with quality. Medium and plainer varieties met with only a fair demand and were an easier market with more withdrawals.
FANNINGS: Good liquoring Fannings met with a fairly good market demand and were firm to slightly easier in line with quality. Medium and plainer varieties met with a little less demand and were easier in line with quality
DUST: 12,638 packages of tea on offer met with a fair demand with some withdrawals. Good liquoring Dusts sold well at easier rates. Mediums met with fair demand and sold at a drop of Tk five to ten closely following quality.
