Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) has undergone a leadership change, with M Rashidul Hasan assuming the role of president and Mostafizur Rahman Sohel stepping up as senior vice president.
This transition follows the resignations of former president Russell T. Ahmed and vice president (Finance) Iqbal Ahmed Fakhrul Hasan.
In a swift move, the BASIS executive committee convened an urgent meeting on Wednesday to fill the vacancies. The committee unanimously voted to elevate Rashidul Hasan to the presidency, Mostafizur Rahman Sohel to senior vice president, and M Asif Rahman to vice president (Finance).
The committee also decided to manage all functions internally, opting not to co-opt any external members. This strategic decision aims to streamline operations and ensure efficient leadership within the organization.
