Starting on Wednesday, September 4, a coordinated nationwide operation will be carried out to retrieve illicit weapons.
A home ministry statement released today stated that the case was confirmed by Home Affairs Adviser Lt General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
Prior to this, during the 15-year Awami regime, civilians’ handgun licenses were suspended by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to the announcement, gun owners have until September 3 to turn in their weapons and ammunition connected to the suspended licenses to the appropriate police stations.
