PM entertained with Kolkata Biryani at lunch

At the banquet luncheon held by her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House here, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was treated to a feast of Kolkata Biryani, aromatic basmati rice and veggies cooked and seasoned in the Kolkata way, along with other regional delicacies.

In addition, there were Bengali Masoor Dal (a lentil delicacy), Shukto (a Bengali mix vegetable curry), Doi Paneer (marinated cottage cheese steaks cooked with tangy curd and Indian spices), Panchmel ni Sabzi (seasonal vegetables with cumin, onion, and tomato slivers), and Amaranth Kofta Gulbadan (vegetable dumplings simmered in Indian kofta curry).

Along with the carved fruits of the season, there were assorted Indian breads, Paan Rasmalai Coulis (poached cottage cheese dumpling infused with betel leaves and gulkand, served with saffron cream), Crispy Pretzels Soaked in Jaggery Syrup, and Mango-Flavored Homemade Indian Ice Cream Served with Sweetened Vermicelli and Tukmanga Seeds.

The Bangladesh Prime Minister arrived here on Friday on a two-day state visit to India at the invitation of her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi who hosted the lunch in her honour today.
