Bangladesh climbs five spots to 96 on the world passport index

From 101st place in the January edition of the Henley Passport Index, Bangladesh has moved up to 96th place. It holds the same position as Kosovo.

According to the most recent passport index published on Tuesday by the London-based Henley and Partners, holders of Bangladeshi passports now have access to on-arrival visa options in 40 different countries.

With on-arrival visa options available in as many as 192 countries, Singapore presently retains the top spot in the index.

Germany, Italy, and Spain tied for second place in the ranking, allowing holders of their passports to travel to 190 nations without a prior visa.

With early visa-free entry to 189 nations, Austria, Finland, France, Japan, Luxembourg, South Korea, and Sweden together took third place.

Along with Senegal and Togo, India’s neighbor was ranked 80th in the ranking. In 57 nations, they have on arrival visa options.

The Henley Passport Index determines a passport’s strength based on the number of nations its holder can go to without a prior visa or with visa-free access.

The index is based on information from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA), which guarantees a thorough and accurate portrayal of chances for international travel.
