Tuesday’s fire at a hospital south of the capital of Austria claimed the lives of three individuals, according to a spokeswoman.
The spokeswoman for the hospital in Modling, which is around 14 kilometers (9 miles) from Vienna, said that “the cause of the fire could not yet be confirmed with certainty.”
According to a statement from the local health organization, the fire started at the hospital at around 1:00 am local time (2300 GMT on Monday).
According to the authorities, the fire was extinguished within two hours with the help of 33 trucks, 170 firefighters, and a Red Cross team.
They stated that unharmed patients were moved to different facilities and that an inquiry had been started.
