Plan to issue national identity card from the age of 10 in Bangladesh

Citizens of Bangladesh age between the ages of 10 and 18 will also receive a national identity card. Till now only Bangladeshi citizens age above 18 years were allowed to get the NID.

The National Identity Registration Division of the Election Commission (EC) will do this. This work will start experimentally from next year.

It is planned to give National Identity Card (NID) to the students of class VI and above in some of the initially selected educational institutions. If this experimental work is successful, everyone between the ages of 10 and 18 will be given a national identity card.

When they will reach the age of 18, they will gain rights and registered as voters of Bangladesh.
