As part of Grameenphone’s responses to Coronavirus to support the country, the company has done with the distribution of fifty thousands sets of medical-grade full set professional PPE to DGHS selected 12 hospitals in Bangladesh.
Bangladeshi Medical frontliners are bravely combating the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) for over two months now. To support our “frontline heros”, Grameenphone has supplied 50,000 sets of medical-grade professional PPE to 12 hospitals in the country. Each set of PPE consists of protective coverall, KN 95 mask, latex gloves, and goggles.
The PPE were distributed to the following 12 hospitals selected by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to treat COVID-19 patients. Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital, Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, Dhaka Mohanagar General Hospital, Mugda Medical College and Hospital, Narayanganj 300-bed Hospital, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Sir Salimullah Medical College, Mymensingh Medical College, Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College, Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital, and Infectious Diseases Hospital.

As a part of its wider COVID-19 response initiatives, Grameenphone has also increased further support to 25,000 doctors chosen by DGHS to treat patients infected with COVID-19 by providing them with 30 GB of data per month for the next six months at a token price of BDT 1 monthly. Grameenphone, along with BRAC, has started the initiative ‘Dakche Amar Desh’ to donate cash for emergency assistance to 100000 most vulnernablle families across Bangladesh and is also inspiring other individuals and organizations to join the cause.
