Bangladesh became largest market for Uber Moto service

World’s largest on-demand ride-sharing company Uber celebrated its second anniversary in the country on Tuesday. The celebration was started by declaring Bangladesh to be the largest motorcycle service market of the company. This service is known as Uber Moto.

With 100,000 driver partners and approximately 2,500 new partner sign-ups per week, Bangladesh is expected to contribute 25% of Uber’s growth in the region in 2019.

Uber moto service is more efficient than cars and moves 3 kilometres faster per hour, said Uber.
It also said that 22 percent of Dhaka’s population had already used the Uber app at least once after its launch in November 2016.

Congratulating Uber and all its employees in Bangladesh on their second anniversary in the country, brand ambassador Shakib Al Hasan said: “From taking Uber’s first ride in the country to recently becoming their brand ambassador, I have been impressed by Uber’s commitment to the country.”

Besides Dhaka, Uber has been providing its services to Bangladesh’s second largest city Chittagong, since April 12 of this year, and now has four products – UberX, UberMOTO, UberPREMIER and UberHIRE – available in the port city.
