The UN mission in Lebanon targeted 30 times in October: UN

The UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, UNIFIL, has reported a significant increase in incidents this month, with over 30 cases resulting in property damage or injuries to peacekeepers.

Approximately 20 of these incidents are attributed to Israeli fire or actions, including deliberate targeting of UN personnel and infrastructure.

The escalation of tensions between Israel and Hezbollah has placed UNIFIL peacekeepers in a precarious position, with Israel repeatedly urging them to withdraw from their positions.

The recent rocket attack on the UN mission headquarters in Naqoura further highlights the risks faced by the peacekeeping force.

UNIFIL has expressed deep concern over the deliberate targeting of its personnel and equipment by the Israeli military. The organization has emphasized that the actions of both Israel and Hezbollah are endangering the safety of peacekeepers and hindering their efforts to maintain stability in the region.
