More 506 Rohingya refugees relocated in Bhasan Char

Today, an additional 506 Rohingya refugees were moved from various Cox’s Bazar refugee camps to Bhasan Char in the Noakhali district.

This is the 25th time that Rohingya refugees have been relocated to Hatiya’s Bhasan Char Island.

The ‘Go and See’ initiative relocated 406 Rohingya refugees who had previously fled Bhasan Char there today. Around 7:45 a.m., all 912 Rohingya men boarded three ships and departed Patenga, arriving in Bhasan Char in Noakhali at approximately 11 a.m.

Abu Jafor, the officer-in-charge (OC) of the Bhasan Char Police Station, attested to this.

Starting on December 4, 2020, the Rohingya started to gradually relocate to the island.
