Nature joins music platforms for a conservation project

As part of a United Nations campaign to generate money for conservation, stars including Aurora, Ellie Goulding, and Brian Eno helped “Nature” become a musical on Thursday.

As of this Thursday, “Nature” will be listed as an official artist on music outlets. Together, the two have collaborated on songs like a remix of Goulding’s “Brightest Blue” that incorporates the sounds of a Colombian jungle and Amazonian birdsong.

Eno has remixed his David Bowie song “Get Real” to incorporate hyena, rook, and wild pig sounds. Meanwhile, Indian artist Anuv Jain has infused his latest hit “Baarishein” with Indian downpour.

London Grammar, Bomba Estereo, and UMI featuring V from BTS are among the other contributors.

The songs will all be available on Spotify in a dedicated “Feat. Nature” playlist, but the individual songs will be accessible on other services.

The Museum for the United Nations – UN Live launched the Sounds Right project with the goal of collecting 600 million streams in four years, which would raise $40 million for projects aimed at conserving biodiversity and restoring endangered ecosystems worldwide.

“The goal of this evergreen initiative is to activate fans, raise funds, spark a global conversation about how we value nature, and inspire a sense of agency in our collective efforts to protect the planet,” the organisers said in a statement.

Norwegian singer Aurora, who contributed “A Soul With No King”, added: “The world is calling for us. And it has been for a really long time. We can feel deep inside of our very core, that something is wrong.”

Working on the project, she said, “has mended something in me”.
