Today marks the official opening of the high-speed elevated expressway to the general public, ushering in a new age of vehicle transportation in the congested capital city.
On Sunday, regular traffic started on the freeway at 6:00 a.m.
However, using the expressway is prohibited for vehicles with three wheels, motorbikes, and bicycles. This restriction also applies to pedestrians.
On Saturday afternoon, the 11-kilometer expressway between Kawla and Tejgaon was opened by the prime minister Sheikh Hasina. She was the first person in a car to cross the flyover and pay the set toll.
