Diesel, octane, and petrol, which are made by local refineries from condensate and naphtha, two gas byproducts, will now be priced by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC).
The BPC will produce a release within the first week of the month defining the new rates in accordance with Platts, an international benchmark for evaluating fuel oil rates, according to a notification made on Monday (10 October) by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
For benchmark price evaluations in the actual energy markets, turn to Platts.
Prior to this change, the BPC and local refineries would discuss how much to charge for locally produced diesel, octane, and gasoline.
