Medical center is being constructed at Akhaura land port with ADB funding

With support from the Asian Development Bank, a medical center is being built near the Akhaura land port in Brahmanbaria (ADB). Corona samples will be examined at the health facility if the proposal is executed, and routine medical activities will continue. As a result, travellers going via the land port with passports, as well as local residents, will be able to receive emergency treatment at the health center.

The project will be implemented by the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday morning (February 18). Saidur Rahman led a high-level delegation to the Akhaura land port and immigration area.

The project will be handled by the Ministry of Health’s Public Works Department, with funds provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Meanwhile, the location of the medical center has been selected after a visit to the Akhaura land port.

According to the authorities, a permanent multi-story medical center would be built at the Akhaura land port at a cost of Tk 2 crore. There are more places around the land port that have been identified. The location has been evaluated by high officials, including the Ministry of Health, and it has been decided to build a thorough planning structure for the hospital’s development.
