Ban on re-entry to Italy from Bangladesh

Travelers from Bangladesh have been barred from entering Italy. The Italian Ministry of Health said in a statement on Wednesday (April 26th). A similar ban was imposed against neighboring India last week.

According to the Italian Ministry of Health, an executive order has been signed in the last 14 days banning any person who has been in Bangladesh or traveled through the country from entering Italy through any border point.

The European country had earlier closed the border for travelers from Bangladesh for fear of Covid-19 infection.

Last year, the first wave of Corona hit the country for a long time, shutting down passenger flights to the country.

Later on July 7, the expatriate Bangladeshis went to Italy by a specially chartered plane. Upon arrival, 65 people were diagnosed with corona infection.

Then Italy imposed a ban on the entry of Bangladeshis. After a few rounds, the ban on entering Italy from Bangladesh expired on 14 October.
