Intense military-rebel fighting on the Thai border in Myanmar

KNU forces occupied the border post between 5am and 6am local time. It has been seized and burnt.

According to Thai villagers who have been in contact with the troops at the base in Myanmar, KNU forces have been besieging the base for the past few weeks. There was not enough food. Clashes with KNU forces have erupted in various parts of the border region since Myanmar’s military seized power.
