Submarine with 53 passengers on board went missing in Indonesia

An Indonesian navy submarine with 53 passengers onboard has gone missing. The BBC quoted military authorities as saying.

The submarine was training north of Bali Island on Wednesday (April 21st). But it was never able to return. Not even a communication message came from the vessel.

The country’s military chief said warships had been sent to find the KRI Nanagala-402. Authorities have called for help from Australia and Singapore to help with the investigation.

The German-built submarine went missing in the water 60 miles off the coast of Bali on Wednesday morning.

First Admiral Julius Widzono told AFP that the navy was currently searching for the submarine. We know that place is very deep.

It is one of the five submarines in Indonesia. It was built in the 1980s. It was later repaired in South Korea for two years, ending in 2012.
