Americans are advised not to go to 80 percent of the world’s countries

The US State Department has advised citizens to refrain from traveling to about 70 percent of the world’s countries due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic. The country’s ongoing travel epidemic is posing a “new risk for tourists,” according to the country’s travel guidelines sent to the media.

Of the nearly 200 countries in the world, the State Department has already listed 34 countries as “Level-4: Do Not Travel,” according to Reuters. These include Chad, Kosovo, Kenya, Brazil, Argentina, Haiti, Mozambique, Russia, and Tanzania. As a result of the new recommendations, 130 more countries could be added to the list.

The State Department said it did not reconsider the current health situation in some countries, but based on an assessment by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention of Existing Epidemics.

Due to the Covid-19 ban, most Americans now cannot travel much to Europe. Washington is barring anyone from most of Europe and from China, Brazil, Iran, and South Africa. The White House did not say when the ban would be lifted.
