National Cup Chess semifinal held

The Spectrum Bangladesh National Cup Chess semifinal was played today (Tuesday) in the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall.

International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman lost against FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia in the opening semifinal match. While IM Fahad adopted the King’s Indian Defense, FM Tahsin played with the white pieces. It took 42 moves for FM Tahsin to win.

International Master Md. Minhaz Uddin and International Master Manon Reja Neer disagreed. Minhaz selected the King’s Indian Defense and played with the black pieces. After forty-three moves, the game finished in a tie.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, the semifinals’ second games will take place. Md. Minhaz Uddin (White) will play Manon Reja Neer, and Muhammad Fahad Rahman (White) will play Tahsin Tajwar Zia (Black).
