Today, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam departed Dhaka for Senegal to attend the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security, which focused on growing geopolitical issues, security cooperation, and world stability.
According to foreign ministry officials, the state minister will attend the event, which is set for April 19–22.
African leaders, foreign partners, defense specialists, and global policymakers convene at the high-level Dakar foreign Forum on Peace and Security in Africa to tackle urgent security concerns.
The conference has tackled issues like terrorism, violent extremism, maritime security, climate-related concerns, and transnational crime since its founding in 2014.
The yearly event, which takes place in Dakar, aims to increase international cooperation and communication among nations and institutions while encouraging coordinated responses to security concerns in Africa.
Shama Obaed Islam is anticipated to participate in talks and gatherings outside of the forum, emphasizing Bangladesh’s dedication to international security cooperation, multilateralism, and world peace.
She is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on April 24.
