Both sides in the war reported a surge of new attacks, and Russian state media stated that a 12-hour-long conference between Russian and US officials on a partial ceasefire in Ukraine had come to an end.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that a missile assault on Sumy in northern Ukraine on Monday injured around 90 people, including 17 children, while the negotiations were being held at a five-star hotel in Riyadh.
According to the regional prosecutor’s office, the assault on a “densely populated residential area” caused damage to apartments and an educational facility. Earlier, the city’s acting mayor claimed that a hospital was impacted.
The four defendants are Shakib Al Hasan, Gazi Sahagir Hossain, the managing director of Shakib Al Hasan Agro Farm Limited, and directors Imdadul Haque and Malaika Begum.
Since Shakib Al Hasan and Gazi Sahagir Hossain did not show up for court on January 19, the judge issued an arrest order against them. However, Imdadul Haque, another defendant, turned himself in and requested bail.
After hearing the case, the court granted him bail. The concerned attorney told the court that Malaika Begum, another accused person, had already passed away, therefore it also requested a report on her passing.
The police report on carrying out the order to arrest the two suspects was submitted today. The plaintiff then requested a court order to seize the properties of the principal accused Shakib.
As per the case records, the officials of Shakib Al Hasan Agro Farm Limited obtained loans from the Banani branch of IFIC Bank on various occasions for commercial objectives. Two checks totaling approximately Taka 4.15 crore were issued by the corporation in relation to the bank’s loans. However, because there were not enough monies, both checks were returned.
