According to Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the current administration is committed to enhancing and fortifying local government structures in order to provide the people with the full advantages of the July Revolution.
“We are determined to further develop and strengthen local government institutions and to deliver full benefits of the July Revolution to the people as they are our biggest asset,” he said.
The Chief Adviser said this in a message on the occasion of the National Local Government Day tomorrow.
“People must be engaged more with various development activities of the new Bangladesh, achieved at the cost of supreme sacrifice of the July uprising martyrs.
The Chief Adviser extended his heartfelt greetings to all members of the local government division and local government institutions and people of the country on the day.
“I firmly believe that by observing the day properly, new doors for people-friendly services will be opened,” he said.
According to Prof. Yunus, a significant percentage of the stakeholders in local government entities are young people. By appropriately reflecting their dreams and objectives in the multifaceted development and service-oriented operations of the local government institutions, he continued, it is possible to create an educated nation.
As envisioned by the people of Bangladesh during the July uprising, the Chief Adviser stated that the current interim administration is dedicated to creating a Bangladesh free from corruption and discrimination.
“The role of the local government institutions to fulfill this commitment is immense,” he said hoping that observance of the day will further inspire everyone to build a new country with more determination.
The Chief Adviser wished all success of day’s programmes.
