Kurmitola Golf Club in the capital hosted the 8th Runner President Cup golf tournament’s concluding and prize presentation ceremony yesterday, according to an ISPR press release.
General Waker-Uz-Zaman, the president of the Kurmitola Golf Club and chief of army staff, spoke as the event’s main guest and gave out awards to the victors.
In his remarks as the event’s main guest, the Army Chief said he hoped that the competition’s organization would be crucial to the growth of the nation’s golf industry. He also expressed gratitude to everyone involved in setting up this competition.
The tournament attracted 704 golfers in total, including both domestic and international players.
Sadiqul Islam was victorious, Major General AKM Sajedul Islam placed second, and Fatema Islam Lima emerged as the tournament’s female champion.
The ceremony was attended by senior military leaders from the Bangladesh Army, the chief executive officer of Kurmitola Golf Club, the chairman of the tournament committee, members of the executive committee, and other dignitaries, including players and representatives of the media.
