Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki today said no culture is better than other.
“No culture is better or superior than the others. It’s just different than the others,” he said at the ICESCO (Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) conference for Cultural Ministers of the Islamic world held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, said a press release.
The adviser emphasized the value of an active ICESCO, which can assist in effectively showcasing member states’ cultures to the rest of the world.
In order to support the development of a thriving creative economy and cultural industries in each of the member states, he also advocated for more active cooperation between them.
Farooki began his remarks by expressing his admiration for the courageous Bangladeshis who brought the July rebellion to fruition.
Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud gave a welcome address to kick off the conference, which was followed by remarks from UN Under Secretary General Miguel Angel Morantinos, OIC Secretary General Hussein Ibrahim Taha, and others. The conference will end on February 13.
