Supradip Chakma, the affairs adviser for Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT), stated today that religion exists for the benefit of people and urged everyone, regardless of caste, creed, or religion, to contribute to the prosperity of the country.
“Every individual has the right to practice their religion freely . . . The interim government encourages people of all faiths to work together for the country’s welfare,” he said while addressing a programme at the Officers’ Club in the city’s Bailey Road area, marking Saraswati Puja.
“The country belongs to all of us . . . We aspire for a prosperous Bangladesh, and for that, people from all communities must come forward and contribute to nation-building with the spirit of the July-August Mass Uprising,” he added.
The advisor added that the country will undergo transformation in the coming days if the populace maintains the spirit of the rebellion.
Later, at the event, he lit a candle and unveiled ‘Mangalok,’ a commemorative keepsake. Additionally, he gave the families of the July-August martyrs financial support.
