Bangladesh receives $1.68b in remittance in 25 days!

Over US$1.68 billion in remittances were sent by Bangladeshi expatriates in the first 25 days of January of the fiscal year 2024–2025.

According to figures issued today by Bangladesh Bank (BB), of this, remittances through state-owned and specialty banks accounted for $428.65 million, while private banks got $1,242.53 million.

One state-owned specialist bank, Bangladesh Krishi Bank, earned $74.37 million, while six state-owned commercial banks—Agrani, Janata, Rupali, Sonali, Basic, and BDBL—received $354.28 million.

Of the state-owned banks, $109.01 million went to Agrani Bank, $68.96 million to Janata Bank, $90.04 million to Rupali Bank, $86.20 million to Sonali Bank, and $0.08 million to Basic Bank.

The nation received the largest remittance, $229.01 million, from Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd.
