Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, hailed Donald Trump as “smart” and “pragmatic” on Friday, stating that he did not think the US president would try to harm Moscow by forcing down the price of oil globally.
Putin told state media, “He is not only a smart person, but a pragmatic person.” Both the Russian and American economies suffered from oil prices that were “too high” or “too low,” he said, adding, “I have a hard time imagining there will be decisions taken that are detrimental to the American economy.”
