Labour Reform Commission to submit recommendations by Feb 18

Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmed, the head of the Labour Reform committee, stated today that his committee has been working diligently to deliver its recommendations by the government-set deadline of February 18.

He told BSS that since its founding, the panel has had 40 view exchange meetings in which members of about 200 organizations and institutions have shared their opinions.

Nonetheless, he stated that the commission is striving to protect the fundamental rights of all employees, both formal and informal.

According to Ahmed, plans are in motion to guarantee that the Labor Reform Commission can develop proposals by the middle of February that take into consideration everyone’s viewpoints and strive toward building social justice for members of the working class.

He stated that after gathering input from all parties involved, the Labour Reform Commission must make suggestions to the Chief Advisor within ninety days to enhance labor and industrial relations.

In order to guarantee rights and enhance worker welfare, the government established the Labor Reform Commission in November to suggest changes to the nation’s current labor legislation.
