Venezuela closes Colombia border before president’s inauguration: governor

The governor of a frontier state claimed that there was a “international conspiracy” behind Venezuela’s decision to seal its border with Colombia on Friday, just before President Nicolas Maduro’s inauguration.

Freddy Bernal, the governor of Tachira, declared, “We have information about an international conspiracy to disturb Venezuelans’ peace… we will order by instruction of President Nicolas Maduro the closure of the border with Colombia” before Monday morning.
