The current requirement of being at least 65 years old to purchase family savings certificates would be waived for male members of the July uprising slain families.
In this context, a notification was released today by the Internal Resources Division (IRD).
The July Uprising martyrs’ families are excluded from filing an income tax return if they use the funds they received as state help to buy savings certificates, according to a special directive issued by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) yesterday.
Currently there is an obligation to be at least 65 years for a male person to purchase family savings certificate.
According to an NBR press release today, the two notifications allow both male and female members of the July Uprising martyrs’ families to buy family savings certificates using government grant funds without having to submit an income tax return.
It should be mentioned that women of any age are able to obtain family savings certificates in accordance with the current laws. However, the family savings certificates are only available to men 65 years of age and older.
Therefore, the government relaxed the existing age limit for male buyers from the martyr families.
