In honor of its 73rd Foundation Day, the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh (ASB) made a commitment to develop into a leading center of scholarly and academic achievement in the years to come.
The national anthem was played when the national flag and ASB’s flag were raised on the society grounds in the city of Nimtoli as part of the program. Pigeons and balloons were released to kick off the society’s celebration program.
ASB Vice-President Prof. Dr. Hafiza Khatun presided over the event, which was attended by University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof. Dr. SMA Faiz as the principal guest.
The key note paper was conducted by ASB General Secretary Prof. Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, with former National University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Wakil Ahmed presenting it.
In his remarks, SMA Faiz stated that the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh had solidified its standing in the community via diligence, made possible by the insatiable curiosity and study passion of the commentators who are closely connected to the ASB. He added that one of Bangladesh’s top research institutes is Asiatic Society.
According to Prof. Dr. Hafiza Khatun, the Asiatic Society has gained recognition and a stellar name both domestically and abroad by doing study on a wide range of topics, including the nation’s history and culture.
According to Prof. Siddiqur Rahman Khan, the ASB’s core research and intellectual endeavors have made it a renowned research body in the nation.
