Today, Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Refaat Ahmed received a courtesy call from a three-member Chinese delegation headed by Ambassador Yao Wen.
During the encounter, they spoke about the long-standing bilateral historical ties between China and Bangladesh while exchanging greetings.
The Chinese ambassador at the time commended the Chief Justice of Bangladesh’s numerous efforts to institutionalize the nation’s judicial system.
In the days ahead, Ambassador Yao Wen hoped that the present CJ’s strong leadership would be crucial to developing good government and guaranteeing justice in the nation.
The envoy also told the Chief Justice that China is prepared to fully support Bangladesh in developing a robust judiciary.
The ambassador asked the Chief Justice of Bangladesh to visit China and specifically stated interest in establishing unique training programs in cooperation with judges from both nations to foster reciprocal contact in the two nations’ legal systems.
Additionally, the Chinese envoy told him [Chief Justice] that Bangladesh has received the medical supplies it needs to treat the injured from the July and August popular rebellion.
Additionally, he stated that China has helped Bangladesh cope with the recent flash floods that have struck several regions of the nation. The Chinese delegation hoped that this pattern of cordial relations would continue into the future.
At the time, Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed reaffirmed to the Chinese Ambassador his commitment to establishing the rule of law in Bangladesh following the revolution and guaranteed the full cooperation of the Bangladesh Supreme Court in strengthening ties between the two nations’ judiciaries.
He mentioned that the judiciary of post-revolution Bangladesh is committed to provide the highest protection of human rights in the country.
