The gross foreign exchange reserves of Bangladesh have surpassed US$24 billion. The most recent data indicates that foreign exchange reserves total $24.8 billion USD.
However, the reserve is more over $20 billion based on the IMF’s BPM-6 calculation methodology, Bangladesh Bank (BB) spokesperson Husne Ara Shikha stated in a statement released today.
The BPM-6 measure of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is used to calculate net reserves. The amount of net or actual reserves is calculated by deducting short-term obligations from gross or total reserves.
