The two neighbors provide each other with special chances that are difficult to find elsewhere, according to Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma, who has voiced optimism about the robustness of Bangladesh-India relations.
“We need to look at our relationship with mutual sensitivity to each other’s interests, concerns, and aspirations,” he said while interacting with diplomatic correspondents at the Indian High Commission here on Monday evening. The envoy noted that the two countries have a significant stake in each other’s progress and prosperity.
“We have so many things to offer each other with our growing capabilities and rising ambitions to grow and develop … this is how we look at the relationship,” he said. Highlighting the importance of a long-term perspective, Verma reiterated India’s strong support for a “democratic, stable, peaceful, progressive, and inclusive” Bangladesh.
The high commissioner underscored India’s commitment to fostering a “positive, stable, and constructive” partnership with Bangladesh, emphasizing a forward-looking, mutually beneficial approach. “It has to be a mutually beneficial relationship. We also believe that people are the key stakeholders in this relationship. Our cooperation strongly benefits the common people on both sides,” he stated.
The Indian envoy reaffirmed his faith in the solid foundations of the partnership and emphasized the significance of turning geographic proximity into new economic prospects.
“We are doing everything we need to do to take forward the mutually beneficial relationship between the two countries,” he acclaimed.
