DSCC conducts drives at 530 institutions for mosquito elimination

In the past two days, the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has carried out combing operations at 530 educational institutions as part of routine mosquito control efforts.

According to a press release issued today, the organization’s waste management and health departments coordinated combing drives at the institutions in DSCC areas under the title “Special Cleaning and Mosquito Eradication (Bishesh Porishkar- Porichchonnota O Moshok Nidhon).”

Today’s operations at 272 educational institutions involved 873 employees and 530 cleaners from the waste management department.

According to the announcement, 530 educational institutions employed 2709 workers and cleaners during the course of two days.

Aedes mosquito breeding sites have been eliminated by specific larvicidal and adulticidal measures near dengue sufferers’ homes, according to the Department of Health’s daily list.
