Speakers at a discussion here today lauded Mahbub Morshed’s writing style saying there are many elements and techniques in his educative writings from which new writers can take lesson.
Taking part in the discussion on his novel ‘Buno ol’ speakers said, Mahbub Morshed nicely described the lawlessness of the society in a creative manner.
Book review platform ‘Oruddho’ arranged the discussion at the Bishwo Shahitto Kendro in city’s Bangla motor.
Litterateurs and writers Moshiul Alam, Salah Uddin Shuvro, ‘Oruddho’ convener Ishrat Tania, Jubayer Ibne Kamal and Kamrul Ahsan took part in the discussion.
The writer of the novel Mahbub Morshed, also the Managing Director and Chief Editor of the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), was present there and answered different questions of the participants regarding his novel.
Praising writing style of the book, the speakers said, the political context and the biological relationship between man and woman were described in a different and creative style in the story.
The novel tells about varieties of characters including prostitute dealer, leader of a dacoit, bribe taking officials, police, human trafficker, smuggler, drug dealer, contract killer, poet, writer, college teacher and many more, they said.
By reading the novel, the readers will understand that it is combined with many small stories and those will connected with each other gradually making the novel complete and meaning full one, they said.
The readers will realize that when lawlessness exists in the society, then evil thoughts and activities continuously increase, they said.
People will get a standard parameter between right and wrong knowing many dark and negative characters described in the novel, they added.
The roles of those characters are against traditional moral values which will help the readers understand the practical meaning of the life, they said.
Several issues like selfishness, greed, high aspiration, frustration, non-attainment, loneliness and political scenario were highlighted in the novel in a very efficient and satirical manner, they said.
The speakers specially appreciated a topic ‘Snake Bite’ in the novel where practice of drug has been showed in a very innovative way.
Through the characters of the novel, Mahbub Morshed in a unique manner, showed the negative political practice of politicians and thus, criticized the fascism, the speaker said.
In a story, readers can see how corrupt politicians control the commoners and oppress them, they added.
The readers will not be bored when they would experience proper speed of storytelling, spontaneous writing and meaningful dialogues of many characters of the novel, they said.
Later, Mahbub Morshed thanked the platform ‘Oruddho’ for organizing such discussion on his novel.
He said he wrote the novel after making several attempts as he wanted to render a good story in front of everyone.
