10 city streets to be declared horn-free in January: Rizwana 

Syeda Rizwana Hasan, the adviser for the environment, forests, and climate change, announced today that ten avenues in Dhaka will be horn-free in January of next year.

She said this at the “Shahid Selim BUFT National Debate Competition – 2024” Grand Finale, which was hosted at the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology in Uttara.

Speaking as the chief guest, Rizwana stated that the law would be amended as needed to support a nation free of horns.

Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the University Board of Trustees; Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, trustee member; and Professor Dr Engineer Ayub Nabi Khan, BGMEA University Pro-Vice Chancellor; also spoke.
 
There were 32 college and 32 university teams in this year’s competition.Dhaka University Debating Society took top place in the university division, followed by Jahangirnagar University Debating Society and North South University Debating Society, which finished first and second, respectively.

Adamjee Cantonment College took first place in the college division, with Mirpur Cantonment College and Bangladesh Navy College coming in first and second, respectively.
