Another Bangladeshi factory obtains platinum LEED certification

Cotton Field BD Limited, another Bangladeshi clothing manufacturer, received the US Green Building Council’s (USGBC) silver LEED accreditation.

According to USGBC, a membership-based non-profit organisation that encourages sustainability in building design, construction, and operation, the plant in Tongi, Gazipur, received an 86 out of 110 score.

According to data from the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh currently boasts 230 factories certified by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program, 92 of which have achieved Platinum certification and 124 of which have achieved Gold.

Furthermore, Bangladesh currently has 62 of the world’s top 100 LEED Certified Factories.
