As the 22-day ban on capturing, selling, and transporting the national fish comes to an end tonight midnight, fishermen nationwide are expected to start hilsa fishing.
The fishermen are currently busy setting up nets and boats to travel to rivers in order to catch hilsa, according to reports that have arrived from various coastal regions of the nation.
The interim government already prohibited the capturing, selling, hoarding, and transportation of hilsa, one of the nation’s most popular fish, from October 12 to November 2.
In order to guarantee the safe spawning of Bangladesh’s national fish during its prime breeding season, the relevant authorities enforced the ban in the Padma-Meghna sanctuary.
