Royal Enfield has officially launched in Bangladesh, offering motorcycles priced from Tk340,000 to Tk435,000, with a strong demand reflected in long pre-booking lines at the Tejgaon showroom, where customers eagerly waited to secure their orders after a year of anticipation.
In order to guarantee their pre-bookings, excited clients waited in enormous lines at the flagship showroom in Tejgaon, Dhaka.
Due to the overwhelming demand for the eagerly awaited bikes, the queue stretched for around 100 meters to the adjoining TVS motorbike showroom.
Employees at the showroom were overwhelmed with enquiries and found it difficult to handle the volume of them.
According to a showroom security officer, some patrons showed up as early as three in the morning to stand in queue.
“I arrived here at around 9:40am but only got inside the showroom at 1:30pm,” one client wrote of their experience. On Tuesday, I will no longer have to wait a year to reserve my favourite bike in advance.
The precise number of pre-bookings made thus far has not yet been revealed by representatives of Ifad Motors Limited, the Royal Enfield manufacturer and distributor in Bangladesh.
“Many people have made online reservations, while others have come in on Tuesday to pay in cash,” a spokesman stated. As a result, we are presently extremely busy and unable to provide precise numbers at this time. A Tk25,000 pre-booking fee is required.
The Hunter model starts at Tk340,000, the Classic model at Tk405,000, the Bullet model at Tk410,000, and the Meteor model at Tk435,000, according to Mominur Rahman Tanveer, head of business for Royal Enfield at Ifad Motors Limited.
