President Miguel Diaz-Canel of Cuba issued a warning on Saturday, stating that a hurricane was headed towards the island while emergency personnel worked to restore electricity after a widespread blackout.
As Hurricane Oscar is expected to arrive soon, authorities in the island’s east “are already working hard to protect the people and economic resources,” he stated in a post on X.
