Pro-Iran protesters storm office of Saudi TV channel in Iraq: security source

The broadcaster’s report labeling commanders backed by Iran as “terrorists” prompted supporters of pro-Iranian armed organizations in Iraq to storm and loot the offices of a Saudi television channel in Baghdad early on Saturday, according to a security source.

After midnight, 400–500 protestors stormed the MBC broadcasting studios in Baghdad. The interior ministry source told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity,

“They wrecked the electronic equipment, the computers, and set fire to a part of the building.” The source also added that the police had put out the fire and ordered the crowd to evacuate.
