The first batch of 50 expatriates is expected to come home on October 20, according to Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain, who made the announcement today. The government plans to repatriate legitimately holding Bangladeshi people from Lebanon.“We are bringing back expatriates in two batches, approximately fifty people each, on October 20 and 22,” Hossain informed reporters during a press conference held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He clarified that the number of returnees has been hampered by the low number of seats available on flights from Beirut.“Given the flight capacity, we are exploring options to transport a larger group by sea to Turkey, from where they will fly to Bangladesh,” he stated.
