Army chief visits 66 Infantry Division in Rangpur

General Waker-Uz Zaman, the Chief of Army Staff, visited the Bangladesh Army’s 66 Infantry Division in Rangpur today.

According to a press statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief gave a speech at Rangpur Cantonment to soldiers of all ranks, providing them with instructions and direction.

General Waker-uz-Zaman also laid the cornerstone for the Army Medical College in Rangpur during his tour.

Following this, the Army Chief conducted a session with officers, added the press release.

He began by expressing his extreme shock and sadness over the passing of Lt. Tanzim Sarwar and extending his condolences to the bereaved family.

He expressed gratitude to the young officer for his sacrifice in the service of the country and stated that the Bangladesh Army will always be proud and respectful of his bravery.

Senior officers from Army Headquarters, other army officers from Rangpur Cantonment, and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 66th Infantry Division attended the program.
